Transforming Long Lost Interest Into Passion And Profession

1. My Career Background

I am a native of Moradabad, a humble town well known for its Brass Handicrafts and talented craft persons situated in Uttar Pradesh, India. This is my story of how my passion for Computers and Arithmetic’s led me to a career in Data Science.

I belong to a well-to-do family consisting of my mother, father, and two younger brothers. I completed my Bachelor of Technology from MIT, Moradabad in the domain of Computer Science acquiring a decent score throughout the curriculum duration.

During my final year in B. Tech, I encountered the term Data Science. I also learned about “Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science”. But those were beginner-level concepts and they interested me in a way that I wanted to dive deep into them which in the coming course of time became my passion.

During my campus placements, I encountered some health issues which obscured my way to placement drive but my persistent efforts and consistent motivation and support from my college faculty Mr. Anurag Malik landed me a job in a company that became my first employer.

My working tenure at that company was five months as a Software Developer. My performance was rated by my teammates and boss as decent but at a level my professional growth was stuck. As a person with a keen learning attitude, I tried exploring some new spheres in the field of Computer Science.

2. Experience at Board Infinity

Then I came across my long-lost interest in the field of  Data Science and Machine Learning. Following this journey of learning and studying Data Science, I discovered the Learning Path in Data Science offered by Board Infinity and saw some testimonials online in reference to the Board Infinity Data Science learning program in light of which I enrolled myself on this program.

Having a professional qualification in Computer Science, wasn’t much of a problem for me but it wasn’t a cakewalk either. During this course, I got through five modules namely Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python, and Machine Learning. My mentors during this journey were Mr. Akhil Thimmaiah, Mr. Gowtham K., Mr. Gurtej Singh, and my program managers Somu Barua and Siddhi Mailoorkar and I was finely crafted as a Data Science Learner by Mr. Prashant Kumar in the latter days of this program.

3. My Placement Process

When it came to placements my placement coordinator from Board Infinity Mr. Varneet Sansare was very supportive and motivating throughout all the ups and downs of the placement program.

Because of screening through various technical and personality tests of different companies I became very confident and fluent and prepared. Then I got through the technical and personality rounds at Black Swan Internet Ventures and by the grace of God, I got the position of Data Analyst in the company.

I would like to thank the whole team of Board Infinity for helping me throughout this journey of getting placed in such a well-reputed company.
